The Hoof Lady came yesterday. I like her. And she does a heck of nice job on the horses' feet. I won't post any photos of her since she told me that someone posted photos of her and she wished that she'd known ahead of time so she could at least fix her hair. So I'm not gonna do that to her. For the record I thought she looked just fine.
Admiral's toes were getting a bit long.Talk about back breaking work.Other than that, they looked pretty good.
And for good measure some gratuitous photos of my horses. Pretty!

I don't think I've known of a female farrier. That's not an easy job. So much for gender based division of labor. I love it that she has the skill and strength to do what she does and still has brain space left over to care about how her hair looks. You go, girl!
That's what I was gonna say. Girl power!! What a woman.
What beautiful horses - Arab and Quarter? They look wondefully well-cared for.
Did you give the clippings to the dogs? Dogs seem to think those things are better than high-priced treats.
Yuck.
She's as slender as a reed but her arms are awesome buff. She's also in a pre-veterinarian program. Neat lady!
Good call HoneyPieHorse! That's what we pretty much consider them even though technically, the sorel is appaloosa, no spots & the bay is also supposed to be registered (if I'd do the paperwork) appaloosa but she has no spots either. She definitely does the Arab neck wringing thing!
How I love them so!
Annette, I guess the dogs are snobs. They never want to chew on the clippings. Can't say I blame them. Oddly enough though, they will never turn their noses up at a chance to roll themselves in a dead animal carcass. Go figure!
I'm pretty sure them are the bestest lookin horses ever. lol I need to get out there and ride that bad boy. I'm sure he misses me.
Aw, you have some beauties there! I can't watch them work on horses hooves. It gives me the heebie jeebies. I know it's not supposed to hurt but it looks like it does!
Your horses are darling!!!!
